Dear Partners and Members,

We would hereby like to invite you to our webinar focusing on the current actualities of Brexit and the most critical issues that companies might face in this respect.

The webinar is organised by the British Chamber of Commerce in Hungary and EY Hungary. We are honoured to welcome Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Europe, Mr. Richard Burn, as our guest speaker at the webinar.

Background

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen agreed not to extend the transition period beyond December 2020, meaning that the European Union and the UK have less than five months to reach a deal avoiding a so-called “hard” Brexit. This leaves very limited time for companies to prepare for the challenges/disruptions they may face in their businesses as a result of the UK leaving the EU, and to ensure a smooth transition.

As always, even in the current crisis and uncertain legal situation, it is important to look ahead and be prepared for Brexit. The aim of our webinar is to provide you with insight into the latest status of the Brexit proceedings, the negotiations, and to draw your attention to the most relevant issues that you should be addressing if you are involved in transactions with the UK.

The main topics of the webinar will be as follows:

·         The most relevant actualities of the Brexit and the status of the negotiations between UK and the EU (potential outcomes) – presented by Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Europe, Mr. Richard Burn
·         The main business and taxation challenges companies may face as a result of a potential hard Brexit
·         The most crucial steps that companies should take to ensure business continuity
