Dear Members and Friends,

We would like to invite you to:

Hungary’s economic outlook in the energy crisis and beyond – a morning seminar with Raiffeisen Bank about economic challenges we are facing regionally and in Hungary

Date: 9 November 2022 – 9:30
Venue: Raiffeisen Bank Offices, 1133 Budapest, Váci út 116-118.

Guest Speaker: Zoltán Török

The Hungarian economy has a high energy dependency ratio and it is reliant on Russian gas and oil shipment. Europe is hit by an unexperienced energy crisis. Current energy prices are around 10 times above vs. their historical average. The HUF is trading at all time highs against the EUR and the USD. MNB key rate has reached 13%.

How do all these factors impact the Hungarian corporate sector, the households and the public sector? What are the main vulnerabilities of the Hungarian economy, and how can the country cope with them? For how long the energy crisis will stay with us, and what are the outlook beyond the energy crisis.
