Our long-time members KPMG Hungary and HAA are holding a topical conference on 7th of March between 9:30am and 14:00pm entitled “Mixed modes of ADR processes for resolving commercial disputes: Pros and cons”.
The event will open with KPMG’s own expert, Bálint Tóásó, followed by Ádám Boóc HAA member welcoming remarks.
The keynote speaker for the day will be Mr Jeremy Lack, internationally renowned Appropriate Dispute Resolution (ADR) Neutral and Attorney-at-Law. He was recognized in 2019 and 2020 by the Global Elite Thought Leader, regularly published in academic journals/papers, and made speeches at Harvard University as well as at the United Nations General Assembly. As a mediator, arbitrator and lawyer, he acquired wide theoretical and practical experience in ADR. Thus, Mr Jeremy Lack will tackle ADR – appropriate dispute resolution, and the approaches related to the topic from 9:50 to 10:50, followed by a little Q&A and a coffee break.
Featuring as another guest speaker will be, Ms Niamh Leinwather, Vienna’s International Arbitral Centre’s secretary-general, presenting the multi-stage dispute resolution clauses and mediation and arbitration combinations advantages and disadvantages.
Following the presentations, there will be a panel discussion related to the main topic: combining arbitration with mediation, multi-tier clauses, increasing the efficiency of the arbitration proceedings with a panel featuring Jeremy Lack, Niamh Leinwather, Ádám Boóc, Vlad Peligrad, Manuela Grosu and Bálint Tóásó as the moderator.
Afterwards, there will be yet another possibility for the attendees to ask questions from the speakers, and the event will be concluded with lunch & networking. The event will be held at KMPG’s Váci út offices, but will also be available for online attendees. The event is free of charge, but participants will need to register in order to attend.
